Joey Holiday – The Truckers’ Friend

Recording artist and songwriter Joey Holiday performs for truck driving audiences nationwide.

Although he has sung for thousands of truckers, the first drivers he met were in his own family. My uncle was a full-time truck driver, said the Montgomery, AL native. My daddy also drove for a while. Joey’s mother taught him three guitar chords as a boy and he has combined his love of music with his respect for trucking. From Music City USA, he tours the country playing his own brand of trucking music. His 40 albums have sold briskly and his shows are hits at truck stops and major trucking events.

Opening for country great Waylon Jennings at TruckerFest ’99 in Sparks, NV is among the highlights of Joey’s career. He also had the wonderful opportunity to open for Neal McCoy & Collin Raye in Sparks, NV at Trucker fest 2000. He has also performed at such nationally recognized events as the Mid America Truck Show (Louisville, KY) and Shell Superrigs Show (Walcott, IA).  Joey also performed for the National Special Olympics in Ames, Iowa in July 2006.

  1. Joey, this is “Champagne Lady”. Remember me? Convoy for a Cure USA? Yes, it’s been a few years, I know, because I retired from trucking. But I’ve not given up on fighting Cancer. I’m chairing the Cancer Aid benefit for our American Legion Auxiliary this coming year. I want to do a convoy & do it up right. It will be Saturday, March 5th, 2022. It’ll be in West Tawakoni, TX, just North of the T/A in Terrell, TX. I’m just starting my planning stages, but just found out you’re still performing AND for American Legions! Give me a call anytime, let’s talk! 903-560-1062.

  2. Joey, I am writing thank you cards for my daddy’s funeral. My daddy (Johny Gay) said his friend Joey Holiday was a country singer, and I am thinking there cannot be too many Joey Holidays who sing country music, so I hope I have gotten in touch with the correct one. I want to thank you for your kindness during this difficult time. I would also like to thank you and Vicky for the tree planted in Daddy’s memory. Sincerely, Olivia “Libby” Gay Reynolds

  3. Hi Joey & Vicky,

Don’t know if you’ll remember me but I met you at Hot August Nights in Reno/Sparks when big trucks were on display as well as classic cars. You let me hang out with you during that time and it was a lot of fun. I was married to a truck driver at that time and he really enjoyed your music. I am in So Cal and have been for ten years now. Well, I hope you’re both doing well and keep on trucking’!

  4. Hi! About 20 years ago, when we were just kids, my dad bought my brother and I a CD called “TommyTunes – Geared Up & Hammered Down” Vol 1. We loved that CD so much, especially since my dad was trucker and just recently retired. I have been trying to find that CD or find where I can listen to online and I have no information on it. It may be a long shot, but do you have any information or know where I could buy or listen to that album?

Thank you for recording that CD and making it such a memorable part of my childhood!
